SCS sofa

Hi, I placed an order on SCS sofas for 2 x three seater sofas back in June and the estimated delivery date was beginning of September I think it was. The have not received this delivery because according to SCS there is a shortage of foam. I have received various estimated dates since then with the latest estimate middle of January.
I appreciate the COVID issue but what rights do I have as a consumer, SCS have offered me £50 as compensation

Accept their offer, or cancel the order and get a full refund.1

In the terms and conditions though it says order can’t be cancelled once placed so not sure where I stand on that, estimated delivery date is 12 weeks from order date which would have been September so no sure where my rights stand0

You have a right to cancel and get a full refund. They are massively over their delivery estimate which in my view means they've breached the contract, no matter how valid the reasons for that are.
What outcome do you want? Do you want to cancel or are you just seeking more compensation?0 -

If you order in store, there is no automatic right to cancel without liability. But the other party still needs to meet all obligations they promised to undertake (such as period for performance), else it can give you the right to cancel or otherwise treat the contract as at an end.
Keeping you bound to all of your obligations while allowing them to breach their obligations with impunity, would upset the legal balance and mean the contract is only binding on you, which wouldn't be fair. Both parties must be bound by the contract. You to pay when agreed and them to deliver when agreed. You keep using that word. I really just want my sofa, I ordered through the website and I haven’t paid yet as took out the interest free option so not lost any money yet.
I have emailed them again today to see if my latest date 11th Jan is likely to be delayed again but now hitting 6 months I’m thinking I should have gone to DFS or something 😂0 -
DFS may also have a shortage of foam .

There is a worldwide shortage of foam just now. It’s not a line they’re spinning you. Very annoying, however if you were to order from somewhere else, it’s likely you would face the same delays.
