Victoria's Secret Online shopping

Options
I'm not sure if anyone else is aware but if you purchase from VS online you are now actually buying from the US, this when you return unwanted items you are subject to postage, US taxes and exchange rate! The website isn't clear on this, you feel like you are buying in the UK and in £. The returns is difficult to navigate, you used to be able to return to a store, not now! I was expecting £125.44 refund but have been told (after 30 minutes on a call to US at my expense) that with the exchange and taxes deducted it will £99, plus I also have to pay postage to US!

  • That's a good warning.  Lots of people buy from lots of places in the mistaken belief they're buying from a UK retailer, just because they have a UK domain web address or because their pricing is in sterling.  It's always sensible to check the company details, usually in one of the main page menus or links.

It's not really disgusting if they state on their web page that they are a US-based retailer.  It's up to you to check before buying.

And did you follow the instructions below, that are clearly shown on their website:

    "Free UK Returns
    • Login to vs-returns.eshopworld.com and select the items you wish to return. You will need your order number and email address. Exchanges are not possible at this time. Instead, you can return the unwanted item(s) and order new items separately.
    • Print your unique, bar-coded free return address label from the Returns Service Portal. The free return label is provided only for customers in the United Kingdom whose orders were processed through our partner eShopWorld."

Returns information is on the website https://customercare.victoriassecret.com/s/article/2162
  • The returns info makes it look like free returns. I went through the steps using the portal and then didn't revive a postage label. I then called the helpline which is the US and chargeable, 30 minutes later I was told the reality of the return.
I think it's so bad as we are all having to online shop for most things this year. Yes there may be some small print buried within individual websites but, I like many of you are using many different retailers. VS used to let you return to store, I wrongly presumed that was still valid and wrongly assumed I was purchasing from the UK.
    Wanted to warn others

What is disgusting is people slagging off businesses because they either have not read the information shown on the website or have read and not understood it.
As already shown, returns from the UK are free and the phone number shown is an 0808 one which is free of charge from a UK landline or mobile so if you called the number shown, you were not charged for a 30 minute international call.
  • "Thank you for contacting us.  I apologize that view our website to be unclear when it comes to returns and am very sorry for any confusion surrounding the taxes and duties associated with your order.

Shipments outside the United States may be subject to import charges, which are the responsibility of the purchaser."

This is from an email I received. They have also not sent me a free postage label, they said it IS my cost and I have to insure. The website looks like you are purchasing from the UK in £
My call was NOT a free phone number.

Do they say they are going to email the label or is it visible when you go through the process described on their site. I suggest you go through it again using a different web browser that allows popups and make sure you use the correct email address then keep an eye on your Junk folder.

Provided PrivacyGuard or someone like that isn't on the whois info - my experience when trying to enlist their help to contact their customer about spam emails being sent from their domain (yes, I know they're spoofed, but I feel their customers have a right to know that someone's doing this to them) is that they do not want to assist.
