Lloyds and Halifax online banking

Is anybody else having problems logging in to Lloyds or Halifax online banking? I can log in using the app but not using firefox, chrome or bing, I have switched off ad blockers but still no joy.
I get asked for the usual log in details and the characters of the memorable word and then it says I have to update my contact details which I have done on the app but again on joy. :/

I haven't tried Lloyds but could log into Halifax ok right now, using Chrome. If your issue persists, it looks as if you need Halifax/Lloyds support.
  • The Lloyds app. was fine earlier. Just logged in to Lloyds, using Firefox, without any issues.

That sounds as if you have actually logged in ok, but got an annoying "interstitial page". These sometimes have a continue button that needs to be found by scrolling horizontally, vertically, or both.
I sometimes get a request to update my contact details either because I don't have a works number listed (because I don't work), or because they're paranoid about people changing their details and not telling them.

Thank you all for your replies. I rang Lloyds and the problem is we applied for online savings accounts with Birmingham Midshires and this triggered a block on all LBG accounts accessed from a computer, not the apps, the call centre were very apologetic but said we would have to wait for the block to be removed which could take 4 days and to try again later.
This is not a big problem for us but if it is your main account then it would be.

I wonder why they would do that??? What's the issue with accessing the accounts by computer?

I have no idea but we now have access via computer (not 4 days as I was told) so all is well, as I said before not a big problem for me but my wife hasn't got the app so it was for her. When I spoke to the call centre they did know about it straight away and seemed rather embarassed about it.

  • I can't remember if it was Lloyds or Halfax, I have accounts with both, but I couldn't access my account the other day using my usual browser which is Firefox.

I tried again with another browser, Edge I think, and got in without any problems.

Anyone else only able to trust their device with one LBG bank site ? I can trust with BOS but need to 2FA with Halifax and MBNA and cannot trust the device.  If I clear cookies then I get asked to trust with the first one I log into then it asks for 2FA for any of the others and no trust pop up.
  • I don't need 2FA for my Lloyds and Halifax logins when using my usual computer.

I have to trust the device once a session for Lloyds and Halifax even after saving cookies if I shut down the computer it seems to lose the settings and I have to do it again.
