How long does a private parking charge company have to notify you of a charge?

On 02/09/20, I parked for nearly 3 hours in a carpark and the limit is 2 hours. Fair enough I overstayed but I only received news of this this afternoon (11/12/20) when I got home. It took them over 3 months to notify me, what is the law when it comes to a private company notifying you of a charge? I thought it was either 14 or 28 days?

Sorry, don't know how to answer 'yes' or 'no' to your poll question.
Instead I will say that they have six months to get the Registered Keeper's details from the DVLA.3 -

3: maybe
perhaps you would get a better answer if we knew all the facts
was this a lease/hire car or company vehicle , if the vehicle is yours , is the address on the v5 correct , and lastly , was a ticket placed on vehicle at time of incident
lastly lastly , which horrible company ruined your day3 -

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Alternatively, I'll read the OP's other thread. I don't like this complicated stuff.3

Well thanks for your replies. Apologies for the crapness of my original message, it's my first time using this site and I didn't have a clue what I was doing so umkomaas there was no vicar of dibley involved. In response to what you said about 6 months, where does it state they have 6 months? Wannadancewithsomebody, this is my own car, yes the address was correct and no there was nothing on my windscreen hence why I'm asking what the time frame is to notify someone.0

We answered = they can get DVLA data up to 7 months.
But they CAN'T hold the registered keeper liable if the NTK arrives later than 14 days. Hence why the keeper appeals using our template appeal.
This is all explained in the NEWBIES thread and there's no need for any thread or poll. Nothing new, easy to beat if it's a BPA firm.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
