People always say that, and I don’t disagree; but if you don’t know anyone whose had the relevant work done you’re a bit stumped. My local authority no longer runs its trusted trader scheme, so where else are you meant to go? 

I can see why; mine LA didn't bother doing the required due diligence and an organisation I know picked one that went bankrupt and left them out of pocket.

Btw when I had my bathroom gutted, re-plumbed and re-wired everything cost me around £10k - that was with v expensive tiles but basic sanitaryware.
