Appeal support

I’ve scrolled through a few posts but unable to find an answer.  A few weeks ago I received a letter from a company callled BW LEGAL. They have asked to recover £165 as I failed to pay a PCN.  Ive been back to PPS who originally issued the fine to advise them I have never reviewed the original notification and to send proof.   They have sent a copy of their original fine and it appears my car was parked incorrectly.  I’ve offered to pay the original £60 but refused to pay £165 when I’ve not had a fair opportunity due to not receiving the original fine.  I’m not getting anywhere and I’ve appealed to the ias and popla but they say there is nothing they can do.  Would anyone have any helpful advice please ?

Too late for any appeal, and in any case there was never any access to POPLA for an appeal for a PPC IPC operator. There was no prospect of success with the IAS, even if you were within time.

Apart from trying to obtain a landowner cancellation, you're in the hands of PPS and BWL as to what their next move will be.

Where exactly was the location of the car park that the parking event took place. Don't be coy, this isn't a James Bond movie!

  • It was behind some shops.  Apparently there is a sign there but I’ve not been back to look.  When you say exactly do you want a postcode or something

A Google maps overhead view with description of the space used would be more useful

Well that certainly narrows it down! 😆

Your thread makes it sound like you haven't read any other BW Legal PPS threads.

Put that right over the weekend because we can't keep repeating ourselves and it doesn't help you to sit on your own thread and talk about 'a company called BW Legal' as if they are something new.

You will get a court claim in the Spring, and you need to arm yourself with info by reading the NEWBIES thread.

  • Thanks.  I did read some threads but there are so many I thought it might be easier to ask the question.  I’ll take another look.  However, you sound well informed so is it easier to just explain what to do ? This may sound like it’s making it easier for me but that is why I came on here.

No because we would drown, we are inundated!

I did write what to do at pre-action stage (and once you get your claim) and it's waiting for you to read it. I wrote the NEWBIES thread for this reason.
