Currys Know How e voucher less than cost of the TV

  • Perhaps you're right if the Knowhow "warranty" was used ... Consumer Rights may have a different slant on this. :)

    How much was the refund as a percentage of the original purchase price? (Since you seem reluctant to answer any other questions about price/refund value). If it was less then 60% then you've been "done" ... especially as the refund was to a voucher rather than the original payment method. (I'm presuming you didn't pay originally with a gift card/voucher).
    The original TV cost £825, and the refund was £529. They explained that as my TV was discontinued, they look for a similar spec model, in this case 49" 4K Samsung. I checked and I could get similar spec models for that sort of price.

    That will ( exactly) get you the 50tu8500 .. which is a great tv , comes with a 5 yr warranty ( not sure if  from Samsung or  currys)

    Which seems fair, although did you pay extra for the warranty?
    A few years ago I got a full refund on a 4.5 yr TV from Costco... allowed me to upgrade. (although in fact the replacement Sony o/s was chunky)

  • So do Currys.    The TV I bought from them in 2017 came with a free 5 year warranty.

    That Currys 5 Year warranty link  is a Search Filter 
    Enable it you get 118 results 
    Disable it you get 380 results 

    So worth checking the one you may be interested in is actually covered
