Halifax Cash JISA transfer part to Vanguard S&S JISA

Hi
Wish to transfer part of my child's cash ISA to a S&S one.
Just looked at moving part to Vanguard, however appears I can only move all not part to Vanguard.
Wondered if there is a way around this or other providers that will allow this?
My thought was to deposit and open a JISA Vanguard S&S, then once i had the account details, to ask Halifax to transfer part of the JISA into Vanguard? Is this possible, has anyone done this?
Thanks

If the constraint is at the Vanguard end then a workaround would be to find a third JISA provider who will accept a partial transfer (sorry, I don't know the market well enough), so you'd transfer part from Halifax to A N Other and then all of that to Vanguard. If the constraint is at the Halifax end then in order to split it up you'd need to transfer it all out and then transfer some back to Halifax (potentially involving opening a new account).bob99999 said:Wish to transfer part of my child's cash ISA to a S&S one.

Any ISA transfer should always be initiated by the receiving provider, not the ceding one.bob99999 said:My thought was to deposit and open a JISA Vanguard S&S, then once i had the account details, to ask Halifax to transfer part of the JISA into Vanguard?1 -
The constraint is with Vanguard, they will transfer the entire account . (Although I do need to check Halifax!)
But thanks for your help, as gives a potential workaround in that i need to find another provider that allows part transfers.
Also my thought about Halifax doing the transfer, wont work then.
I will try Fidelity tomorrow.
