Need very cheap handsets on PAYG which are easy to order online and easy to top up
Working for a small charity with vulnerable clients, we've found it useful to give out cheap mobiles so that we can keep in touch with them during lockdown. Vodafone have one for £1 but I suspect it is going to go out of stock soon. And yes, you have to have at least a £10 topup on it, so £11 per phone, but still not bad value.
It's been really easy to get these phones online, delivered to work, and the clients then take responsibility for topups which they can do by buying vouchers if they don't have a credit card.
Today I tried to order but the website said they weren't available for home delivery, why didn't I order for delivery to a store (is 'because that's not an option' an acceptable answer?) or choose something else (because nothing else is this cheap!)
So, thoughts on easy to obtain cheap handsets, with easy topping up also needed?
And yes, I'm aware of the imminent increase on Vodafone PAYG1, detailed here and that's also something I'm conscious of.

Have you looked at Asda phones? On line there are some at a tenner, https://groceries.asda.com/product/unlocked-mobiles/unlocked-stk-m-black-mobile-phone/1000125109520You can top up with vouchers from many corner shops, choose your own network [not 3] but Asda would be obvious choiceAs a charity you could ask Asda if they would donate some to you, I am associated with a charity & our local Asda often donates money & items, for instance a hamper for our Christmas raffleYour local store will have a charity liaison person
