I have parked there previously as a patron to use the shops and didn't expect anything to happen in literally 2 minutes flat.
Stupid i know we live and we learn.
The signage is very very small and barely readable and at that time in the evening its dark so wouldnt have been able to read it clearly.

That gets made clear in your defence then.  And you can add that it seems a ticketer lurks in a Smart Car and issues parking charges within 2 minutes flat, which fails to meet the requirement for a grace period, as set out in the relevant Code of Practice.

Does the PCN confirm the times?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    The original PCN.
Well whatever is left of it after I've scribbled over most of it.

    Yes one specific time
No time frame or no mention of duration

And it says the reason for issue is 'non-patron'. Good luck to them proving that, then.

    3.  The Defendant didn’t see any clear legible signage at the said time. It was also dark and any signage (if there was any at the time of alleged contravention) was not lit. (***Deleted***)

Really don't know what's important to include in this point?

OMG don't say that, you are proving and admitting NOT being a patron!  Did you not understand what I meant:
And it says the reason for issue is 'non-patron'. Good luck to them proving that, then.

And now you want to hand them that, in your defence?
