basically as title suggests saw the tower air fryer advertised on one of those shopping channels. and apparently it does everything except change the babies nappy. they cooked some home made chips in it, in a thimble full of oil. so just wondering, any good or just another gadget to sit in the spare room. this by the way is not the same as a halogen cooker. different all together.

You can cook anything in this that you can do in an oven, bake bread, chips,
Sausages, crisp up ready made Yorkshire. Bake eggs. Fry onions in a bowl
And in 3 years I have never used a drop of oil in mine.
Shop around though, the prices vary enormously for the same machine. and buy a digital one rather than a manual one with grease collecting knobs
You won't regret itmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.1 -

Ours was used about 3 times and now resides in a box in the garage. It was very noisy and whilst the food may have been healthier, it didn't taste quite the same.0

As to cheaper? It is certainly smaller but its also no where near as well insulated. Cannot say which is cheaper to run but the Mrs’ air fryer is physically warm on the outside after 20 minutes of running (so wasting energy) whereas our smaller oven (and bigger for that matter) is still room temp only on the outside so isn’t losing heat.
Since getting our smaller oven, which is a combi steam/conventional oven, the air frier has just sat taking up a considerable amount of cupboard space as shes discovered steaming things tends to taste better plus if you do want crispy the “0% humidity” setting does seem to create more crispy than the air frier created with the same amount of oil.0 -
Probably end up in the back of a cupboard along with the Breville sandwich toaster.
