That's annoying but i guess its same everywhere I will have to check it out is there a way to get round that say with a regular direct debit etcAceace said:Looks like it is waiting for your deposited funds to clear. But, as mentioned above, you won't be able to invest it as £500 is the minimum lump sum investment.0 -
That's the minimum to open an account (unless you setup a regular plan) but once the account is open smaller fund trades are possible. I agree its probably just waiting to be credited to the account or maybe if a fund was chosen waiting for the trade to complete.Aceace said:£500 is the minimum lump sum investment.2 -
Correct reading it seems it takes 1 day to show as available I will set up a £500 a month regular investment hopefully that is above the thresholdAlexland said:

You can only open one ISA every year. No such thing thing as a generic ISA.GotPrincess said:if its in a generic ISA0 -
I took it to mean that funds had been deposited in Vanguard's ISA wrapper as cash, but had not yet been allocated to an investment within that wrapper.Thrugelmir said:

I pay in small amounts as hoc to my ISA and pension, even making small purchases, each purchase has a minimum amount which varies depending on the fund. As others have said you have to wait for the money to clear before being able to spend it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1

I think if you add it as cash the money is available the next day.
If you skip the ‘add cash’ step, you can just buy a fund and it all happens straight away.1 -

Yes, it takes a day or two to clear and a little time to get familiar with the workings. As mentioned you can pay in less than £500 a month, I pay £300 monthly into a VLS60.0
