I suggest you contact Vanguard for clarification and certainty. They are usually very helpful, messages or phone. Regards1

When looking at your account, with the top left menu item set to "My ISA", any ISA cash that has been deposited but not yet invested is shown in the large "Available Cash" box. In this box click the "Invest Now" button to actually invest your funds.0

Sadly there closed but I have fired of a message I just wanted to use the amount I deposited now to purchase 80/20 fund hopefully that is a option or i think the £250 will be just stuck in the generic ISA account for all its days ;-)thetimewill said:I suggest you contact Vanguard for clarification and certainty. It will never be "stuck" in the uninvested ISA account. It will be waiting for you to assign it to an investment (or withdraw it, or transfer it elsewhere).GotPrincess said:

I'm sure everything will be sorted ok. Find out for certain which account you have and take your time when make making transactions. I'm afraid I can't help with regards this generic ISA which you fear has your money for ever! Regards0

Most likely thing that has happened is you have added cash, rather than investing in your chosen fund, but your post is quite hard to follow so can't be clear.GotPrincess said:

When did you add this money? The funds (whether adding cash or investing in funds directly) do not get added immediately. If you have added as cash they will appear as available cash and then you will be able to invest (although I believe vanguard has a minimum investment of £500 or £100 direct debit so this might be an issue..?).

Not sure what 'generic ISA' refers to - I assume this means 'cash'??

Looks like it is waiting for your deposited funds to clear. But, as mentioned above, you won't be able to invest it as £500 is the minimum lump sum investment.0
