Thursday is turning into a very dark day & the air is damp although no real rain yet 🤞 I have sorted my post & managed to catch the recycling chaps to give them their Christmas £ 😉 I have also given a jar of hm tomato chutney to each of three neighbours. One was off on a cruise with his mum - brave soul, another had just knocked on the door with a present for us (a Black Forest panettone) so gave him a 2nd jar & the 3rd was given to a neighbour who had to cancel her trip to be with her 90 year old mum in South Africa 😔 DSis has just gone out for a wander 🤔 & DH has just left for the sm to pick up a few bits.
Back to cheerleading 😉
Absolutely brilliant work Liverpool_Anne 🤞Sorry that working yourself into exhaustion didn’t guarantee a good night’s sleep ☹️ What a nice too good to go box 🙂 I was especially impressed by the growing chives 👏 The guacamole recipe I use doesn’t include cream - just tomato, avocado, red onion, a chilli, lime juice, chives, salt & pepper. That tgtg box just got better & better 🙂
vulpix thank you for sharing 👏 My DM used to make us sit at the table to eat - happy memories 🙂
ruby_eskimo thank you too for sharing 👏 Pleased to hear that your mum has managed to find a caring GP - it makes life so much easier 🙂 If your DH does decorate your kitchen I will award him a gold star 😉
Sorry to hear you have been unwell, StickyTheStickInsect ☹️ You are definitely excused decluttering duties 😉 Fingers crossed that both you & DS1 are well enough to enjoy Christmas 🤞
mothernerd I cannot sing your praises enough - you are a marvel 👏🙂 You are working so hard but still trying to make sure you don’t overdo it …too much 🤔 Sending healing vibes that the walking improves. As to your innovative way to complete your reverse advent calendar that has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️ You must be so excited that you can now sleep in your own home 🙂 I do not have the words to express how proud I am that you have asked for assistance & in such a way that it doesn’t really inconvenience anybody - wow 👏 🤩 Great numbers 👏 Also thanks for the great tip about moving hanging clothes 👏
Great work in the kitchen oceanspirit 👏 & good luck with the admin frog 🤞
Nice post balabooberlies 🙂
Great decluttering retiredinfrance 👏 excellent progress 🙂
Thank you for the book recommendations ruby_eskimo 👏 Pleased to hear that you have managed to get Christmas off work 🙂 Hopefully after all the washing & prepping etc you will have a lovely Christmas 🥳
Nice to see you bit_by_bit 👋 Sorry to hear that your Covid booster laid you low ☹️ Huge congratulations on becoming Nana to Oliver 🥳 & I hope you can meet him soon 🤞 Good luck with the spurt of decluttering that you have planned 🍀
Liverpool_Anne - not sure that I would be just miffed 😖 I think full explosion might have been my reaction 😉 Hopefully OH will tidy the kitchen 🤞 without words being said 😉
nannywindow, I am sure you are not as far behind as you think 🤞but remember you can only do what you can do 😉 Wishing you a very merry & stress free Christmas & I look forward to seeing you aboard the Electric Train in 2022 🙂
See you all later 🙂

Nipping in quickly to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.Sorry for being missing in action for so long. I did try a post about a week ago - a long one but managed to loose it!My major frog unfortunately grew into a bit of a monster. Trying to sort out the mess of a solicitor loosing wills got very complicated however I think we are on our way to finally sorting out the mess. Also been hunting for a new job. However despite not posting a lot of decluttering has taken place - several trips to charity shop and loads of paperwork sorted out / thrown out as needed. A visit to do with the will issue resulted in more crisis cleaning so apart from 1 bedroom (now definitely the "room of doom") the rest of the house is actually looking reasonably tidy. Current mission is now to try and gradually clear up that room.Access to internet over Christmas and New Year is likely to be nil - intermittent so will catch up again in the New Year.Vulpix - I didn't know there was such a thing as shepherd's pie mix either - I must have had a sheltered life!2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons8

Me too Skogar, a sheltered life and a country bumpkin!
I wrote a post earlier and it has disappeared into the ether.
Amongst other things it said. Wishing each and every one of you a Jolly Holiday and Thank you for your company and friendship in this last, strange year. Thank you especially Mrs SD for your dedication and organisation and keeping everyone acknowledged and supported. You have made a difference.
I am ready for Christmas, a different one in a different house in very different times. I have finally packed some spare bedding into vacuum bags today, it's only taken several months. A spot of hoovering tomorrow and I am done.
Liverpool -Anne ,I feel your pain. Mr V has come in with very muddy work boots and managed to deposit it into every corner of the kitchen.
Congratulations bit by bit. Welcome baby Oliver.x
Tomorrow friends are visiting and we are all off to a Brass band carol concert at work, compared by Mr muddy boots himself.
have a lovely few days folks.

DSis went into Lewisham - said it was horrendous 😱 DH advised mask wearing was better in MrS than it has been recently but aisles were crowded with staff trying to restock shelves & the odd person dithering about their purchases 😔 DH managed to get everything apart from the boxes of Turkish Delight. Whilst he was out I wrapped DSis’s presents (using years old gift wrap) but still have absolutely zilch for DH 😱 Dinner was chicken (from freezer) fried in butter, boiled potatoes & peas + for DH & me I cooked the hg leeks in an hm cheese sauce with breadcrumbs - it was delicious 😋 wish I had more leeks 🙂 Wudupa.

Lovely to see you skogar 👋 Sounds like you have been very busy decluttering & now just the one room to sort. One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 👏 Hopefully your perseverance in sorting out the solicitors shoddy work will now lead to a speedy resolution 🙂👏 Hope you have a lovely Christmas 🎄 & see you on the 2022 thread which I will set up next week 🤞As for me, I need to plan next years decluttering & decide on my mantras for the next year. Plus I need to find some Get Up & Go 😉 The other thing I want to do is decide how to spend my 1p Savings Pot Challenge cash 🙂What a lovely compliment vulpix - I am blushing ☺️ The concert sounds wonderful 🙂 Wishing you a joyous & stress free few days👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇🥇🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 2317/2021

Thank you so much for all the support during the year and my stars and medals (so proud). I am still doing stuff (very slowly) but most of it will go on next year's totals. Have just noted the bin schedules -brown bin (plastic bottles and containers) is being collected on the 29th (has been full to the brim since it came back last time) so will line up sacks of bottles to go (mostly in the yard but some mixed in with other stuff), blue paper bin following week (again full so will bag and wait -should still be some space. Cans and glass will be taken to the recycle point to leave more space in our bin. Black bin was emptied last week and have put about 10 bags in 2 bins (one house currently unoccupied).
So mainly collecting and sorting, will leave the house in January depending on how soon I start walking properly. Still lots of things to pack at mum's but will do it when I feel better and she has chosen not to have me there for Christmas (I asked but I wasn't going to sit there being made to feel unwelcome or a nuisance). She isn't very well (bug working it's way out of her system) but I made sure she has lots of easy things to eat and there is lamb and beef for when she feels like eating a dinner. I have been phoning her, looked on the nhs website and told her what she should and shouldn't be doing.
DS2 called here after visiting her and he has wiped all the handles in the house (I'd just told her to spray them which is probably all I could have managed to do). Only DS2 went in the house. They are hoping to visit his gf's parents and if either of them gets ill in the next week they won't be able to go. I can barely walk this morning. Went downstairs first thing to collect my handbag (for the phone) and things to eat (broccoli, celery, a dip and a few goodies) and then a bit later later I washed myself with a pillowcase as I couldn't face trying to get downstairs for the clean flannels.
After I'd phoned mum I had another little but much needed sleep and feel better for it. Have wrapped my ankle in a support bandage and a crepe one which means I can hobble a bit. Beloved has been collected by her father and after I'd gone downstairs to talk with DS2 and his gf (they preferred to stand at the front door rather than come in) DS3 moved the couches for me (he says I've pushed him beyond his limits and stopped him working, he needs to recover and catch up with his work.
I've cooked a leg of lamb which will be sliced up later but I'm going to eat what and when I feel like, whether that's rice pudding, cheese and pickles or raw broccoli) and I have plenty of grab and go bits (did rather well on the reduced shelf including a 45p lemon cake that was not available on delivery). May order Chinese takeaway later and can use that as an extra option and add more veg. But everyone is okay, I've done everything that I needed to. Going to sleep for as long as I want (3 days should do it) read books and do a little gentle moving/ tidying/ sorting when I'm up to it.
Hope everyone has a pleasant and peaceful Christmas and that you all get to do what you want to at least some of the time

Logging in now just to say thanks to everyone and particularly Mrs SD for this thread and the support given. I've not always posted a huge amount as the year has gone on, but reading and following has helped me to keep at it. The flow of things going out has slowed to a trickle but my one in one out rule has pretty much stuck, I now have a useable office room instead of work taking over my dining room and I now have a place for most things and my house is a bit less of a junk store.
So thank you all and wishing everyone the Christmas and New Year that works for them.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
