Excel have a lease on the car park and pay Travelodge £20K per yearCoupon-mad said:
The guests should sue Travelodge and I am not saying that lightly. As long as Travelodge signed the contract with Excel? Travelodge let you all down and have caused CCJs to your wedding party. This is actionable.
Had you thought of the national papers? I have an email address for a Sunday Times journalist who publishes cases about rogue parking firms.

Right, then Travelodge can be sued over this. They caused the issue (not bothering to tell patrons about the rules) along with Excel (not bothering with clear/lit signage).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That should be a DVLA issue and the National Press.
It is a prime case of "cash for favours"
With lockdown now, this is costing Excel a lot of money, especially if the deal is throughout this hotel chain3 -
This is the only board that displays the terms and conditions at the front of the Travelodge. The information for Travelodge Guests is just above the tariff on the yellow strip. There is really too much information on that board for a person to take in especially at night.

If the visitors had entered the car park from the second right off Miller's lane which is the most likely as it is nearest the hotel then that board would not be visible at night as there is the tree blocking the vision. There is also the taxi building.
Where the guests would have most likely parked as it is nearest to the Hotel. Note lack of signage. Those yellow and blue signs are not parking signs.
Second turn off Miller's lane.
They would not have had to pay at that point but should have been given permits and told to pay before 8.00 am. Alternatively they could have paid at night for 24 hours if they were unlikely to leave before 8.00. They should have been made aware of this when checking in.

The hotel is closed at the moment due to lock down. The car park may get a few motorists using the station but that would only be people for work and there is a higher level station car park that fills up first. It's not that near to the town to attract shoppers and there are only essential shops open.beamerguy said:

I doubt that they will break even on that car park this year which is why they are digging up all these old claims.

This is why there is a case to sue Travelodge for their conduct that caused people to get bullying letters, court claims and CCJs.
Please go to the press about this. People should boycott this Travelodge when the country starts to recover from the pandemic. This is not a safe place to bring a party of wedding guests if they are all being used as fodder by Excel.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This lady went to the press however the scenario is similar to another poster who is defending a claim as a result of a ticket from this car park. It's regarding a demarcation issue between the Excel car park and the Railway car park. You could not believe that in one row of parking bays that there could be two operators.
"Excel Parking said it had not received complaints from any other motorists about the use of the car park."

Sorry I didn't see this before your defence submission but I guess the full WS information on our case may help you if Excel continue to pursue which is more than likely.
TLDR: We currently have an ongoing claim with the scammers at the same car park.
Still awaiting a final hearing date.

Travelodge weren't that interested in helping us but I'd love to assist with taking this public.3 -
