What are the options/solutions for short(ish) term property rental in the U.K. and getting Internet Access?  

Without getting drawn into a long contract etc.

There are ISPs that offer 1 month minimum terms.  You don't get "deals" where they promise you cashback, prepaid mastercards, kitchen sink etc, and may have to pay installation fees as these can't be amortised over an 18 month contract, but there are options out there.

Depending on what the 4G coverage is like where you live, then Three, EE & Vodafone do 4G routers and packages with broadband access or for really short term what about tethering to your phone or getting a mifi router and a paygo sim.

I've got a MiFi unit that I take away in our caravan (or on my mates boat) and we get reasonable broadband in most places but we dont feel a need to stream or play games so if that's your thing then you may need to investigate it a bit to ensure that you get a reliable service.
