Hacked Amazon Account

I had my Amazon account hacked and someone managed to order some goods totalling £99 using my stored card (since Amazon don’t ask for cvv number). I had two factor authentication but if you log on from a different browser it pops up with option to not use this). I contacted Amazon on the morning the order was placed and my bank and cancelled my card but Amazon still delivered the items to the persons address who had hacked my account. My bank won’t refund as after raising a dispute with them Amazon rejected my claim since the items were delivered. I don’t know where to go from here if anyone has any ideas please.

I always get 2fa with different browsers , you can turn this off on a browser once you have done 2fa .
A new device being used will always trigger 2fa
Something odd going on here

I suggest we should get this site to use 2fa with all new posters.2

If you put a new address in, Amazon asks you to confirm the card number. How did they get that? It's also not a very smart "hacker" who has stolen items delivered to their home address (although I wouldn't put it past some of the more stupid criminals out there!)4

That used to be the case but I ordered something a couple of days ago and selected delivery to an address that I hadn't used before and the order went through without my having to enter the full card number as was previously required.camelot1971 said:If you put a new address in, Amazon asks you to confirm the card number. But confused as to how address was changed as does ask for card details (or always has previously)Life in the slow lane1 -

I’ve had more online chats etc to try and sort this all out but with no luck. Amazon froze my account after I notified them of the fraud and removed the order details and emailed me to reset all my passwords which I did. Every time I have questioned why they still delivered the items they said it was too late to stop the deliveries since they had already been processed. The person who hacked my account used two different addresses and ordered one item via prime same day delivery and two which were delivered on the following Tuesday. Both addresses were in Wales (I live in South Yorkshire!) It wouldn’t surprise me if they used someone else’s address and just waited outside it for the delivery if they were able to track it. Either way Amazon were not interested in stopping the order being delivered or informing the police of the address used to dispatch the parcels to. I also questioned Amazon how someone could get delivery to an address that didn’t match bill payers address and comment was you can have as many delivery addresses as you want on your account. I really don’t know where to go from this point as my bank aren’t interested since they say it’s Amazons account that was compromised and Amazon told me I had to raise a dispute from my bank as they can’t refund the money (they couldn’t refund it to my card anyway as I cancelled that as soon as I realised my account had been hacked) but said they would put a note on my account to say it had been hacked for when the bank contacted them via the dispute claim form.0

You should be able to see the addresses in your order history, can you not pass them to the police yourself?0

You need to go back to your bank, say Amazon are not dealing and as these are fraudulent transaction. They need to deal with them and refund you.
If they do not want to do anything, then you need to raise it as a complaint with your bank, which will make them deal with it.
The fact that you card has been stopped, does not meant that they can not refund you. All that will happen is it will transferred to your account. As Credits are not authorised, they do not know the card is stopped.Life in the slow lane0 -
I raised a dispute with my bank which Amazon said I had to do as they said they can’t refund me the bank has to get refund from Amazon and then I should get money credited to my bank. However Amazon’s response to my claim via my bank (which my bank forwarded to me) was it’s was a false claim as the goods were delivered therefore Amazon won’t return the money. The bank won’t refund me since Amazon have refused the dispute case. The banks email to me with Amazon’s response attached just said if I wish to contest Amazons dispute I need to provide them with details as to why I don’t agree with Amazons decision.1
