In our house the crusts that are not eaten by husband or me are put out on the side to dry out then given to my two rabbits as it is good for there teeth they love it.

I have one lop eared and you have to make sure that they have something to chew on.

Never made bread and button pudding. Suppose I could change the dried fruit for chocolate chips.

Me neither, it's the thought of biting one of those buttons - plays havoc with the old fillings :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • I listened to the programme and really enjoyed it too, howver I am now racked with guilt having thrown out two stale slices of bread and three wrinkly mushrooms today. I bet some bright spark will have a fab recipe for these ingredients - I lay down the gauntlet if anyone is up for it?

    Easy peasy :)

Some veg stock, some assorted vegtables, with one more common and so dominant, and your mushrooms. Cook all the vegetables in the stock then whizz the lot to make a smooth soup.

Serve with lots of croutons made from - you guessed it - a couple of slices of dry bread.

    :D
