Well 18 days to go till the store closes, still have no new information as to whether I am being tupe'd over or being made redundant.
I have my 2nd redundancy consultation meeting on Saturday at 11am so hopefully will get some answers or know what is actually going on?
Are they allowed to keep us in the dark for so long literally all we have been told is that someone is opening another Post office and may want some of the staff and its upto them which staff they would like and we have all just been sat on our hands desperate for some more information, most of my colleagues have gotten very fed up with not knowing whether we have jobs or not.
Its been really horrible to not know where we stand.
I shall update after my meeting, fingers crossed I may get a definitive answer which is all I want a yes you still have a job or a no you don't and are being made redundant.

The new set up may not have decided how many and who they want.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

The new post office is set to open on the 18th and has 2 Post office counters and one retail counter which can also be used as a post office. We are trying to communicate with hr about it its very back and fourth. I have my 2nd redundancy consultation tomorrow other colleagues had theirs on Wednesday and said it was just a repeat of the 1st one. The woman in HR who is meant to be sorting it all out hasn't done a tupe before, and now the new owner of this post office doesn't think it is necessary either so looks like we may all be made redundant after all. We shall see what happens.0 -
In my opinion and without the benefit of knowing all of the small details and intricacies, I would suggest it unlikely that a 3rd party, essentially unconnected business, would have any true interest in taking on all of your various historic contracts, terms, pay rates etc. If they have no legal obligation to do so, which it seems they don't here.
I would assume redundancy will be paid out in full and that you will be seeking a new job in due course, I would then try to locate the details of the new business owner and approach them directly as an experienced worker to discuss employment opportunities. As a new postmaster you may be able to locate details from the post office organisation itself perhaps?1 -

Hi op here wit a very overdue update.
So on the 16th January I had my final redundancy meeting to which we were then told a new post office was opening and we could tupe across or take the redundancy so it was nice to actually be given a choice.
I had already luckily got a new job in place at a very small post office that had been shut for a few months and needed someone to get it up and running so I took the redundancy which was a massive help as we just got on the property ladder in December with our very first house.
Since then I ended up leaving the very small post office and I'm now actually working in the new post office that re opened in its place of our one shutting. It didn't open until April 2021 and the new post master is extremely nice and very accommodating and I managed to get working hours to exactly what I want so I somehow managed to completely land on my feet got the best of both worlds I got my redundancy and secured a new job with the perfect hours and days.
One member of staff from the previous post office transferred across and its mainly thanks to her securing me the job in the new office but also I had been the longest post office employee in our previous post office with 13 years experience.5
