Email for competition mobile from Curry’s , Is it a SCAM?

That sounds like the least genuine email ever.
Bin it and stop opening "you're a winner!' emails.7 -
Did you agree to enter a competition? You normally have to agree to your details being used. If you haven't bought anything from Currys, or you didn't enter a competition, or agree for your details to go into a prize draw, it will be a scam. They might well be phishing for your details, especially your date of birth, to claim Universal Credit in your name. You will end up owing the DWP thousands if this is the purpose of the scam - don't contact them unless you have a clear recollection of entering the competition.
Don't click on any links in the email. If you know how to see where the links go to check these. The should go only to currys.co.uk. Check who the email is from, if it isn't from an email address that has @currys.co.uk, it is possible that Curry's are using a marketing company to run the prize draw, but if so, you need to check that the email address is correct for that company. If you don't know how to do this, please don't take a chance on it being correct. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -

In my defence, I was on the Tesco groceries website at the time, and I was seamlessly moved into a competition where a choice had to be made from 12 presentation boxes. The rest, as they say, is history
Fortunately, for any on line dealing I have a special current account to which I transfer money as needed. The account is kept low until needed, and only has about £16 in credit at the moment.
Another lesson learned regarding the sophistication of scams and, if taken on board, not a bad outcome for £1.50
