However an online transfer would mean the seller's details appear on the OP's bank account, which is what he is trying to avoid.Zanderman said:
If you're trying to do this in branch, with actual cash, that's the case.square_bear said:
They told me that paying cash to another bank account, other than my own, was not permitted anymore.Zanderman said:
Why won't the bank allow it?square_bear said:I want to buy a present for my wife, but not have the sellers details appear on our bank account.
I can't transfer the cash direct to the company, as the bank won't allow it. I only have the one joint account.
How else can I transfer £ 100 to pay for the goods?
Thanks

Why not just open a sole bank account? It's easily done on line and would come in handy for holding cash for such situations as described.
Virgin current account might suit?

As a long term MSE'r you will have seen the mess that people get into when their bank decides it doesn't like them anymore. As above open a second account and encourage your wife to do the same. Ditto with credit cards.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

Aside from HSBC, essentially all current accounts are easy to open. The fastest of all in my experience is Metro Bank.DCFC79 said:
