Why did your friends move out? Because of the stairs?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

One former resident died and the other was unable to cope alone. It wasn't specifically the steps, as they had all they needed on one level.

That’s really sad.  I'm so sorry I asked now.

I don't know the location but there are similar chalet properties like that round here and they sell to young families.  For older people who have concerns about stairs the balance of space is wrong,  you are paying for 2 upstairs room that will rarely be used and taking valuble living space for a downstairs bedroom.

If it were me I would remove from market and re market in the new year with new agent and pics at £299,950.
Yep, the sooner the price starts moving down the sooner it will sell.

I thought of that, too, but the upstairs rooms are fine for the kid/grandkids to visit. They are also fine for hobbies whilst you are able to get up there.

I'm not altogether in favour of bungalows, because climbing stairs is good exercise. When MIL (who lived in a bungalow) came to stay with us, we had to make up a bed on the ground floor for her. I could understand that, but her dog couldn't manage the stairs either! After MIL died, the dog came to stay with us. That was quite a change for the dog, but better than being put down. We slimmed it down and took it for long walks, and it soon was romping up the stairs.

Stairs provide a specific form of exercise. As a bungalow-dweller I'm aware of this, because I can walk 5 or 6 miles on rough terrain without problems, yet just going up the stairs in a shop feels awkward.
As an 'older person,' having stairs wouldn't worry me unduly.I'd see them as useful exercise. If the worst happened, I'd get a stair lift. They even go around corners these days.

It`s not the stairs, it`s the price.
It's still getting viewings; a new one and two second ones is what I'm told. If any of them offers, the headline price may influence that.
And it's easy to say "Knock another £10k off!" when it's not your £10k.
I distinctly remember when it was my £15k and thinking, "Jeez, how long would it take me to save this?"
Not disagreeing with you; just providing context.

Just think how FTB`ers (the one`s daft enough to still believe in the magic "Ladder") feel when they are begging their family for a deposit?
