I’m not certain but I think they were the only insurance company to do that.
I was aware that LV offered some customers a refund but it was only paid if said customers had met certain criteria after applying. Admiral paid refunds automatically to every car policyholder.
Just out of interest, which other car insurance companies offered covid19 refunds?...might be nice to know.

I'm with Admiral since 2012, because they are always cheapest and have best cover for my needs. Only in one year, Aviva came with similar price, but I checked that after I move to new house, Aviva would go up by £300 and Admiral went up by £24. I haggle every year at renewal, to get better price.
Luckily, I never had any claim, so can't comment on it. But call centre is ok.

Been with them a few times. Had to report an accident and it sucked. No way to make it clear I wasn't claiming (my car had negligible damage), and had to repeat myself over and over to loads of different people.Requiring "optional extras" to be disclosed seems like a way to make those cheap quotes vanish though. And the kind of thing they could use to try and wriggle out of a claim. With a second-hand car you might reasonably not even know what was and wasn't "optional".0

I have been with them for at least 10 years and quite possibly a lot longer. Always have come in with the cheapest quote, easy to deal with and the call centre is a pleasure to deal with. One year I phoned up to renew and the girl on the phone asked if there's was the cheapest quote. I jokingly replied that is was but it still seems a lot of money, she knocked £40 of the renewal.0

Admiral provided a decent quote for my daughter, she had just passed her test so a new driver. Although she was 29 yrs old at the time some quotes were coming in at £1800+ Admiral got it down to £700. Unfortunately she's had two accidents since that first year with them, 5 years ago, both minor but claimed, one at fault the other 50/50. In each case they dealt with the claim and repairs swiftly and got her car back in use asap.
I've since joined them for my home and multi-car policies, can't fault them for giving me decent price each year, of course as is the norm I've had to haggle the price again this year which could only be matched but not beaten elsewhere.0 -
Admiral are a very good insurance company. Very competitive year on year, comparing the market. Handled a claim, on my policy quickly and efficientlyMortgage free

Direct Line are doing some form of discount re mileage ,but i think it may apply to next years policy as opposed to a refund .

Well I have gone with them in the end because they were the cheapest. Not very good experience so far though. They said they would phone me back twice and they didn't bother. Data didn't track accurately from comparison site and then they pushed the premium up. Website not great. Anyway thanks for the comments. Sorted for another year.0
