That looks like a communications cabinet for broadband services, very similar looking to Virgin that have just been installed on our estate.0

I'm going to have to go back and try to talk to the site manager. The development is small, only around 26 houses, and there's no sales office/show house. Some of the homes are completed though and the selling agent takes people round. The agent is OK, but not the most professional one I've ever met, so I'm not sure I can trust the answers he gives me to the questions I ask. He just waves a hand and says something, but doesn't actually seem to know a lot about the houses he's selling. I also sensed tension between him and the site manager! I'd like to actually go and have the site manager let me into the house so that I can measure some things and then I could ask him about the box - he'll be able to tell me exactly what it is. The agent is actually bad enough to deter me from buying the place. Might give it one more try and say I'd like a meeting with the site manager. Hopefully the agent won't come too, but I suspect he will ....0

I've lived close to various junction boxes over the years. They were very good neighbours - quiet, considerate AND they kept the street lights on.
To the OP: there's nothing to worry about, and you're going to look quite silly if you go back to talk to the site manager about it.0
