Anyone have a street lighting feeder pillar box near their home?

Currently negotiating price on a lovely new build on a small development. From the photos I took on my last viewing, I noticed there's a silver box beside the side wall of the house. Not attached to the house, but sitting beside it on a thin strip of grass that runs alongside. The agent has checked with the builder, and advises that it's an electrical box for the street lighting.  I've asked him if it will hum or emit any noise, and he says no, but of course he's unlikely to say yes!  Anyone have anything like this near their home? Any problems? I'm guessing if there were any health/safety issues they wouldn't be allowed to stick it next to the house. I've Googled but can't find anything worrying.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • It is dangerous, but probably only if you try to wire your house into it for free electricity

It's been put there for you to plug your electric car into for a free charge.  But the street lights might go a bit dim while you are charging.

First, upload it to the web. Imgbb.com is as good a place as any.
Then use the "attach image" (mountain pic) icon above the post, and paste in the URL to the image itself.

If you can't get the second to work, no worries - just post the URL to the uploaded image, and we'll figure the rest for you.

Never mind the streetlights, what about when they install a 5G mast on the new build estate?  ;)
