i don't think speaking directly to the vendor is always welcome. by anyone.FTB_Help said:Stop chasing the EA, cut out the middle man more often than not they're giving stalling tactics, if you have contact details for your vendor maybe drop them an email to see what the hold up is.0

any other thoughts on whether or not it would be uncouth to contact the vendor directly?0

Is it worth me going to the estate agents?0

Our contract pack took a while to arrive also and when we chased it the EA and solicitor vendors solicitor said it had sent already but still it did not appear.. Eventually our solicitor rang their solicitor and whilst on the phone they pressed send on the email again and it appeared...
Perhaps it was an error initially or maybe they never did send it initially but maybe that's an option you could offer ?
I also thought it may be rude to contact the vendor directly but after meeting her at a later viewing she offered her mobile number and it has helped with keeping each other updated and chasing our solicitors when needed 🙂FTB 🙂

What's the position of the vendor with regards to an onward move. This will determine the speed of events. The vendor isn't going to incur chargeable time themselves with their solicitor until they are ready to do so.proformance said:
It's now been 16 days since the initial request from my solicitors to the vendor's, requesting the draft papers and my solicitors haven't heard a peep back.

It was advertised and confirmed as chain-free, with the owners having no dependency on the sale of the property in questionThrugelmir said:

Is this actually an option? I assumed it unconventional and borderline rude, but I don't know why I felt that way.FTB_Help said:Stop chasing the EA, cut out the middle man more often than not they're giving stalling tactics, if you have contact details for your vendor maybe drop them an email to see what the hold up is.
 Is this actually acceptable then?
 Thanks,
ZDepends on how you word it, insted of saying we are waiting for "you" word it as we are "waiting on your solicitor".If at the start of the process you had introduced yourself to the vendor and kept them updated on things like i have just recieved my mortgage offer seraches have started etc etc just to keep their mind at ease too that you are doing all you can to keep the ball rolling on your end, when you get to situations like this it is easier to contact them and blame the Solicitors for delays etc and ask if they could give their solicitor a nudge

have you got your mortgage application done yet? when we sold a flat, i told my solicitor not to send out the contract pack until the buyer had already had his mortgage application approved and a valuation date given.proformance said:

Not ever called them but have emailed each other to keep updated and solicitor chasing.

Vendors still might have their own agenda. Because you wish to move a fast pace doesn't mean that they do. (Not at the moment anyway). The lack of draft contracts isn't a big deal this early in the process.proformance said:
