Just re-read your other thread. You didn't buy the house where they had street parties did you? I'd remembered the pictures you put up but had forgotten, or not read the latter half of the thread. Hope you enjoy the house you're now buying. Mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.5

Another hearty welcome to all our newcomers and to our returners. Not long until we get started but for now I need to finish December and tighten up my personal budget to reflect further lockdowns and changes in long-term plans. See you in 2020 thread to round off that challenge :-)I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I would like to join 2021 thread. I was on here a good while ago and I drifted away. I really need to tighten my belt and I know I will get the support and knowledge I need on this thread
DD1 is due her first baby in may 21 and she is going to need some help with setting up with everything. (However DD2 will be finishing uni in the summer which means I won’t be paying her rent anymore)
I am also aiming to retire in 3 years , fingers crossed9 -

- I found out I was pregnant
- Our house sale fell through
- Covid hit and I was made redundant during mat leave
- We decided to relocate to Northern Ireland (husband's team is out here and he was commuting 'the wrong way' in terms of economics)...so I let our house, found one online to rent
- We moved to Belfast and I found a new job
- And then we had an offer accepted on a country pad where we will focus on retiring early to live the self sufficiency dream!
Bizarrely, it's been one of the best years of my life. Had darling baby Roo, focused on what was important and learned we can cope with just about anything!! Are you well?23 -
Very well, thank you. It sounds like you'll be doing the same as us. We, OH and I, moved to a 13 acre shareholding, in South Wales, seven years ago. Now live with eldest DD, he husband, their three children, 6, 4. and 2, while they build next door. Also youngest DD, 32 sheep and 13 chickens. No money, but loving it. Hope you and yours do too. Mumtoomany.

Hello! I'd like to join please. Haven't been on here for a long time, life has changed quite a lot. Divorced and renting a house instead of having a mortgage. Will be focusing on living well on much less money. Pay half of rent and bills with my boyfriend... so just recording my spends etc. Looking forward to getting ideas from everyone x10

KatyLovesCats said:Hi, I’ve been a member here for many years under various names but very much a lurker and love reading everyone’s tips and what’s going on in their lives. I really, really need to re-haul my financial life next year. I’m currently on ESA and my daughter is 18 in May so I’ll lose a lot of the money I get for her and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to survive to be honest. I really want to get a job but I’m worried about whether I can cope with one with my health condition. Anyway, sorry for the long story, I’d really like to join this group and will work out a budget in the next couple of weeks for up to June. Will reassess month to month though as I simply won’t know what’s going on. Thank you all23
