Happy New Year!
I'm still finalising the 2021 figures but do know that we have managed to come in at £2600 for food for the three of us. Not sure how long this will last as we have a teenager now who has a huge appetite!
Wishing you all the best for a healthy and happy year and looking forward to seeing you all again in 2022.
Thanks as always @Frugaldom for inspiring us to do better and be more mindful of our spending8 -
I have still to total up my challenge budget spends but the budget is staying the same as previous years at £4000 for cost of living expenses. 😁 Good luck with teenager. If you can get them enjoying soup, pasta and pancakes then your battle is won. Just make sure there's a ready supply in fridge at all times.I reserve the right not to spend.

Happy new year all. Currently in my sick bed with covid. Feeling so rubbish. Tested positive on NYE. We had budgeted in for takeaway and I couldn't even enjoy it! Not moved from either bed or settee since. Great (and obviously enforced) frugal start to the year!5

@Ellie79 take it easy and look after yourself. My recovery is slow and I'm still really exhausted after having it last month. DH had 4 days of awful symptoms and has been fine since.
@Frugaldom thanks for tips, he likes the pancakes and pasta which is good but won't do soup which is a shame. He has hollow legs, eats constantly and is skinny no matter how much he eats 😃7 -
Get well soon, @Ellie79. See you in the new 2022 thread and here's to a healthy, successful and frugal new year.I reserve the right not to spend.

Happy new year everyone!!!!!!!!December expenses came in at2200,00 -mattress334.58 - food147.90 - bills15.00 - travel cardAltogether the total for December came in at €2.698. The final figure for the year is €15 .678 which is €3,428 over budget, however we upgraded our mattress which was rather expensive but totally worth it. I am more than happy with total expenses. My annual budget was €12.500, but considering we have to pay healthcare at over €3.000 and still have to pay dental bills which were over €500 and a new mattress I think we have done really wellGrocery challenge year budget €3K Jan €190 Feb €225 Mar €313 Apr €202 May €224 June €329 July €518 Aug €231Sep €389 Oct €314 Nov €358 Dec €335 Total spent €3628

mummy2threeboys said:Afternoon all, Our weekly shop was just under £50 (4 adult food portions and a 9 year old, plus 2 cats) Fridge looks empty to most but there's lots that need using up. Randomly some green vanilla frosting from an online cupcake decorating lesson.
I also have some marmalade, (Only one who eats it ) 4 over ripe bananas ,two nets of oranges and a punnet of grapes. Sainsburys gave me all my fresh very short dated fresh last week. Marmalade and banana tray bake with Green frosting. Fruity porridge tomorrow.
realised I might get Sse home warm discount so applied. I need to find pet insurance or create an emergency fund. We had one of our moggies pts a month ago , he had symptomless cancer, by which time it was too late, £700 vets bill and no beloved kitty to bring home.
Boilers on the need replacing asap, we qualify for a new one, but no ones getting back to us, assuming no one wants to come into peoples home. Thankfully it works sometimes!
Have a blessed day all.4
