@Mrs_Cheshire I used some from a bale of dust extracted shavings that get used for the livestock, layering them up until the box was full. Covered the top layer to keep out the light then put a lid over the top.I reserve the right not to spend.

Sweetlittledaydreams said:@Viking_mfw lime curd would be nice. Could then be used for lime tart.
Had gas and electric smart meters fitted today, I feel I could get a bit obsessed with trying to keep usage as low as possible now!
Making use of the low price Christmas veg in the shops at the moment, made a really nice soup last night, did 2 meals but now I know it's good will make a bigger batch next time. Have spent a while reading through an old thread on here about meals for £7 for the whole week, lots of ideas for if you are on a really tight budget. When I have a free day I'm going to go through the cupboards and freezer and see what I've got in stock then make a list of quick, cheap and easy meals to go to.
Have some things to sell but only seem to be getting time wasters so no joy yet. Better get ready for work, a night shift on no sleep and with neckache and a headache doesn't bring much joy either but it pays the bills 😅2025 decluttering: 3,896🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

@Viking_mfw I second the lime curd, if you have any eggs needing used up but I also think you can never have to much marmalade

@QueenJess I hope this works.

It's not my thread so hope it is OK to share the link, there is some good advice on there, a little bit of concern understandably at the start about one of the posters being fake but they weren't and it got sorted out then back to good meal plan ideas.
Going to have a go at working out cost per meal with my own cooking soon, inspired by this thread.8 -
