Thanks for all your suggestions for websites. I will look at those but what I liked about the app is I could pull up the recipe on my phone and take it into the kitchen to do it without printing the recipe out. I can't really do that on the laptop and my phone screen is too small really to look at to follow a recipe from a website so it looks like I will have to print recipes off to do in future which is going to be a bit awkward.

I bring them up on my laptop and then have it open in the kitchen. Is it because you're stuck for space?
I know I have to keep tapping to make sure it stays up.7 -
Following on from my post on 14th December, I had my asda shop on the 20th (£43.15), and no other money has been spent. This will continue into January as planned. If we don’t have it in the house now it’s hard lines!

Season's Greetings. Have been awol for a long time mostly due to constant colds and viruses coming home from preschool with the 4 yo.
However, tis the season for huge quantities of leftover things on Olio. After everyone else had taken their fill I have been given a sack (!) of limes. I will make lime marmalade and lime pickle but wondered if anyone had any other favourite recipes featuring limes?8 -
Key lime pie? Wonder whether using limes would work instead of lemon in a lemon meringue pie so a lime meringue pie🤔.9

A while back, I said I was experimenting with storing potatoes in a cardboard box filled with shavings, kept in the barn out of daylight. I put them in there several months ago and checked them today... good as the day they went in! Very pleased with this as it means I will now try it with other root veg to see how far through winter they can take us. My 2022 challenge, or part of it, is to drive down the grocery budget even further and store & preserve much more than I have been doing previously. Allocating space in the barn seems like the way to go, as long as it imcludes mouse-proof storageGrocery Challenge 2024

@Viking_mfw lime curd would be nice. Could then be used for lime tart.
Had gas and electric smart meters fitted today, I feel I could get a bit obsessed with trying to keep usage as low as possible now!
Making use of the low price Christmas veg in the shops at the moment, made a really nice soup last night, did 2 meals but now I know it's good will make a bigger batch next time. Have spent a while reading through an old thread on here about meals for £7 for the whole week, lots of ideas for if you are on a really tight budget. When I have a free day I'm going to go through the cupboards and freezer and see what I've got in stock then make a list of quick, cheap and easy meals to go to.
Have some things to sell but only seem to be getting time wasters so no joy yet. Better get ready for work, a night shift on no sleep and with neckache and a headache doesn't bring much joy either but it pays the bills 😅

I received some lovely gifts yesterday, home made chutneys and biscuits etc. My side board is awash with treats! I’m going to keep the jars and have a go at putting something similar in them. I found a suitable book to teach me how.I’ve set up my envelopes online and physical for next year, anything I need outside of essentials will be only funded by prolific. The challenge being not to buy anything as I can’t need anything other than shoes in the next 6 months. If I get to my birthday without spending any of it I’m going to have a night away with my bestie.Life happens, live it well.10
