I feel reassured today as I attended a financial wellbeing webinar organised by my employer. I didn't particularly learn anything new but what I did find is that all the things they advised and tips and tricks they suggested I have been doing. I am obviously on the right track.

@DawnWvdo you know how deep your radish containers are please? I’m limited on options but want to get some in.My tomatoes have shown their little heads and seem to have doubled in size over night!@Frugaldom so pleased for you getting your application in, let’s hope it’s a swift positive result.I paid £67 off my loan yesterday, that’s £77 in the past month, plus the dd payment. £23 under target but still a very good amount. I’m hopeful I’ll save more, but getting paid every 4 weeks by 3 different income streams at 3 different cycles is taking some time to get used too.Life happens, live it well.17

RainbowHippie said:Thanks to whoever suggested Frugal Jo on youtube! I've spent a few pleasant evenings recently watching her channel while doing some embroidery for my friend's 40th bday present. I've got Fairyland Cottage bookmarked for when i run out of Frugal Jo
Have a lovely evening all xx
Last month I managed to pay off an extra £80 off my high APR cc ( it runs from the 8th to 7th of the following month) on top of my minimum payment ....I literally have been paying money off of it as soon as it has been paid to my account from eBoy so I cannot be tempted to spend it on something else....something I have done in the past annoyingly. My food budget is doing well too ...cash is definitely king for me. Luckily, every place I have been to have taken cash with no problems...not like in the last lockdown.A weird concoction for dinner for me tonight as needed to use up some cooked cabbage that had been sitting in the fridge a few days. I actually quite like just throwing stuff together to see how it turns out haha. Definitely going to try the singing swede next time I buy one 😃.
My budget book arrived today so shall be sitting down to sort that out sometime over the next couple of days 👍16 -

I've done so much better since taking a monthly food budget in cash... I hate handing over 20 pound notes... grr.
I went shopping after the first lockdown lifted. No one wanted cash but then tge internet crashed and all the shops couldn't take card payments... oh how quick the policy was changed!# 36 1p challenge 2024 - £536.60

I agree re radishes being the easiest thing to grow! I like them very very finely sliced in salads, less keen when they are cut bigger.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

@RainbowHippie - I'm hoping to build a hut (or 2 or 3 eventually, if any others want to build their own). If you get the chance, take a look at the www.thousandhuts.org website to get an idea of what it's all about.
After years of campaigning, a hutting 'law' was finally written into the Scottish planning policy to allow for small off-grid cabins for recreational living, but ours will double up as a place to stay during busy tree planting or harvesting times IF we get PP.
