What do you mean by "best place". Maximum interest? Safety? And for how long?
If you mean mximum interest, the best place rather depends on how soon you plan to spend it. The longer the time period the higher the returns. Though at the moment you wont get much whatever you do. If you mean save for perhaps decades you could consider a pension or some form of investment for protection against inflation.0 -
You'll have to give a bit more info. What are you saving for? Are you happy with low savings rates on offer currently or if the money isn't going to be needed for a few years yet, would you prefer to invest the money in the stock market & potentially get it to grow more than it would in a savings account? The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Do you mean deposit accounts of one kind or another? Pickings are very slim.

Lump it on Sad Ken at the 3.10 at Haydock this Saturday?“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.” Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway0
