Pleasant Surprise from Do-it-for-me ISA

I have used these ISA platforms for a number of years but removed all prior to Brexit. Decided it was time to go back in and following ML suggestions went for Open Money. Before I could carry out any transactions I was forced to speak to an Advisor. The reason my account was 'blocked' was because I was over 75 and they wanted to make sure that all was well (politely). I was actually impressed with this approach even though I have been active in this market place for a number of years and its the first time that I have found that somebody cares about their investors and does not take money first and ask questions later. The performance of my investment is obviously in the future but full marks to Open Money for this.

This is a worthwhile check. The industry deems anyone over age 75 as a potentially vulnerable client and is starting to take additional measures to ensure they are treated fairly.  This is in addition to those with specific vulnerabilities and is a nice extra check.   75 is a bit arbitrary but not everyone is as capable as another person.

All advised options, whether robo-guidence or full advice, take age and ability to understand into account.  It is a regulatory requirement.   Non-advised don't have quite the same level of requirements.
