Just ordered a hot Tub.. from online spas, awaiting delivery in january.. was looking up tips beforehand to make sure running costs are manageable. Just found out that our bulb vari fair tariff is economy 7, didn't realise this as we've had recent issues with having a new meter installed.. still not working correctly and we've only had estimated bills for 18 months.. they are looking into their !!!!!! u asap . So... assuming that as hot tubs need constant heating to maintain the temp I guess that it's not worth being on economy 7. We don't have storage heaters and the only thing we try to use at night is the washing machine. I think my tariff is 18 p daytime rate .. any suggestions and tips re electric companies tariffs, hot tubs and online spas welcome.

This is posted in the wrong section but I will add to anyway....
Bulb Eco7 was one of the cheapest until recently. Its still at the right end but no longer the cheapest. It is now 0.1716 day rate and 0.0851 night rate.So... assuming that as hot tubs need constant heating to maintain the temp I guess that it's not worth being on economy 7. We don't have storage heaters and the only thing we try to use at night is the washing machine. We don't have storage heaters either but have an item that charges on night rate and makes E7 worthwhile. So, it would depend on your use as to what comes out best.

If you are worrying a bout the running costs then a hot tub is probably not the right purchase.
Heaters will be used to raise the water from fill temp to operating (that is variable and depends how hot you like it). Once there it will switch on/off to maintain it. A small low power circulating pump will run continuously. Bigger (kW rated) pumps will run to provide the spa jets systems when used.
Hotter spa water will result in a bigger delta (difference) to the ambient air and need more energy to maintain. Colder nights will use more than warmer days.
https://www.whatspa.co.uk/hot-tub-running-costs/ might be useful background reading? That reckons energy efficient spas cost 75p to £1 a day at 12-13p per kWh (£23 to £30 a month).
https://www.hotspring.co.uk/hot-tub-installation-planning-tools/energy-efficient-hot-tubs-energy-costs is one make of spa with a running cost calculator on it (they reckon mine costs £26-£28 per month @ 13p per kWh).
Online spas suggest £1.50 per day, £45 a month in their faqs.
Bear in mind they are all 'average' so warm summer days will cost less and chilly winter days a lot more.

Just a quick heads up on cost we have had ours drained down and our monthly usage has dropped by between £60-£70.0
