CIFA and Hunter

Hi All,
Hope everyone is keeping well. A couple of weeks back I posted about my Barclays current account being closed after only just being approved and no activity on the account, subsequently the same thing happened to the Barclaycard they approved me for the same day. Barclays told me that no info would be reported to CIFA's it was just one of those things and I didn't meet the terms and conditions.
This had me thinking, so I also applied for an RBS account - hey ho, the same thing happened again, they then also closed a Natwest account I opened for a switching bonus some time ago, (got the text today). Obviously, something is going on, I have submitted a SAR form to both CIFA's and Hunter. Never had any issues like this before, never had an account closed for fraudulent activity.. unless the above counts?
The only thing, I think may come back is when I moved out of my parent's house and moved to a couple of different addresses, if I ever took any credit out I put the full address history, whereas now I just put my parents address and I live back here and I just assumed it would all link back up... have I been my own worst enemy here?
I have read horror stories of people losing jobs because of CIFA's and I am really panicking.
**Edit, if someone has recently done these requests I'd appreciate if you could let me know how long you had to wait**

If you've been less than honest on applications, that could be a problem, but no point in jumping to any conclusions until you see what comes back from CIFAS.

Hunter will highlight any discrepancies between submitted applications. The enquiring finance organisation is unlikely to ask anything further of you. Will simply decline your application.1

I've had a similar thing happen to me with Barclays where they closed an account days after opening it - never really got to the bottom of why they did that as they gave a very generic response when I asked and there was nothing odd on CIFAS/Hunter when I requested my info. You'd think they would've just not offered me the account rather than closing it right after "approving" me though -shrugs-0 -
I think they class this as application fraud because by ‘leaving out’ an address that has had negative information / accounts attached to it and your name, you’re potentially leaving out the full picture of your finances. I don’t think a 6 year fraud marker slapped onto anyone for leaving an address out is a fair outcome though.I have seen this before where someone has left an address out of an application because they were only living there for a few months- and it led to a marker. It sucks!0

Just to add- whatever you do, do not apply for any new products or accounts with any bank / credit facility or they’ll notice the marker and likely close the accounts. Hopefully you have a bank account you can use for 6 years? If not try Monzo, they are usually lenient to markers as they aren’t CIFAS members (only for immigration checks not the national register for fraud).0

I stand corrected. That’s changed recently. Up until at least 2019 they weren’t members of the national database, only immigration0

There's been anecdotal evidence over the past few months that they've been canning people with CIFAS markers. I think there may even have been a post or two over on the banking forum about it.1
