As you have used just about every product known to man, my straw grasping suggestion is...how about an automotive cutting compound such as t cut ( the paste type) or , if you have a glazing company in your area ( where you can get glass cut) give them a call and see if they can recommend anything...

Kilrock, its deadly if that doesn't work.  Take great care!
  • Thanks to all for the tips. Have tried Astonish, The Pink Stuff, Wilko Cream Cleaner (like the old Jif), HG super concentrated limescale remover and as a last resort Oven Pride (in a small rest area only for about 10mins).

Kilrock is the only one I haven’t tried yet.

Wonder if the surface of the glass is now 'etched'?    If not, one thing that can work on stubborn grime without scratching is those stainless steel scrunchy scourers about the size and shape of a satsuma.

I'm thinking the same. We had hard water where we used to live and cleaning the shower screen was always a pain so didn't get done as often as it should have been. I'm fairly convinced the screen was damaged as a result of it not being cleaned enough. Made sure when we moved to our current house, in an even harder water area, with a brand new shower that we have put in a water softener which has made a huge difference. Cleaning is so much easier so is done more often.

  • Thanks all. Decided I am giving up. We live in a very hard water area so it’s probably 15 years of hard coating that will not dissolve unless near sulphuric acid is used. We are moving home so just wanted to hand over a sparkly shower to the new owners, but have to admit defeat. Where we go is soft water, thank goodness.
