Question about memory on Samsung S10+

Hi there, I have a slightly dumb question, but hope someone can help anyway. I am about to buy a Samsung Galaxy S10+ and I use an SD card in my current phone. It has all my photos on it and has a capacity of 128GB. The S10+ comes in 128 or 512 GB memory versions. I was tempted by the 512, but then saw somewhere that there is a maximum memory capacity of 512 GB, which would mean I can't also insert my 128 GB SD card. Or is that not the same thing and can you have 512 onboard and 128 in addition. Hope someone can clarify.

If the 512GB version has an SD card slot then I would assume that it is designed to accept an SD card that expands the memory beyond 512GB, otherwise there wouldn't be much point in the SD card slot.

possibly means that the biggest SD card it can accept is 512gb, so yours will be fine. Suggest backing up the stuff on the card first in case it reformats in when inserted in the new phone2

Hi I have a S10+, (I got the 512 for the same price of the 128) but the SD card basically works as a separate memory. You can choose were to save photographs via the settings.1

The memory limit of 512GB means that the biggest SD card it can take is 512GB, not that the internal memory and SD card can only add up to 512GB. You can use your SD card in any of them just fine.NotVeryTechie said:Hi there, I have a slightly dumb question, but hope someone can help anyway.
