PIP MR process started

Have been to the post office this morning and sent the MR form and a letter from my carer first class .
I’ve read it can take up to 7 months ... are these timescales accurate at the moment ?
Anybody done this before ? Will they write to confirm they have recieved it or will I just get a new decision letter land on the door step sometime in the next 7 months ?
Many thanks

7 months for the MR decision? That's rather excessive, even for DWP standards. 7 months at least for the MR and Tribunal process, is more realistic. For the MR it can take 2-10 weeks, sometimes longer but there's really no timescales. It's one of those questions that's like asking "how long is a piece of string"To my knowledge they don't send a letter to confirm receipt of the MR, they have been known to send a text, if they have a mobile number for you.Good luck.0

We got a text to confirm MR lodged.
We sent our MR claim and it was received by them 02/04 It was rejected by them & we started the tribunal process 14/07.
The MR claim went in the day after we received the letter with the award (std on both)
Tribunal was sent in the next day after rejection of MR. Tribunal all done online.
Latest status on this is. A hearing has been booked for your appeal. As it is paper based, they can not give a actual date for the appeal.
Started PIP process 12/11/19
It will take as long as it does. At least any changes will see funds backdated. So no worry there.
Wish you well. I think it is a case of not too worry (easier said than done, I know) but stressing is not going to speed anything up 👍Life in the slow lane1 -
My MR was sent in October, and I had a text about a month later to say they'd got it (I'm certain it didn't take that long to arrive! Otherwise it would have been very late). The DM made a decision a week after the text, with the letter arriving a week and a day after that.
I hope it goes well for you; the number I've mostly seen associated with MRs is 'up to 10 weeks' so hopefully yours will also take less than 10 weeks.0 -
Thankyou for all your replies ..
I’m not going to stress over it . It is what it is . I read on the cab website 7 months so assumed that was for MR but it probably is for MR and tribunal when you consider born-agains dates .
will just keep everything crossed and try to enjoy what christmas we can
thanks all0 -

UpdateGot the “ Youve asked us to look at your pip decision again . We will write to you once we have done this . Should hear from us in ten weeks “ . Feeling very nervous and apprehensive but it’s done now , just need to think positive . I have my reasons why I thought the discriptor was wrong so nothing more I can do .1

Can’t edit
that should have been “ I GAVE my reasons “ phone0 -
That will be the standard reply and 10 weeks is just a guide.
