Electric heating help
Options
Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I'm looking for some advice on what would be the best way forward. We have a 2 bed house with electricity only. We are currently using a very old night storage heater in the hall way to take the edge off and back this up with delonghi dragon oil filled heaters. We are on economy 7 so running these separate heaters during the day is proving to be costly but neccesary.
I feel like we need a better permanent solution but I'm just not sure what way to go. I've read about the dimplex quantam and q rad range but wondered if anyone had any other ideas that I could read into? Apart from the obvious of installing gas central heating.
Thanks in advance!

If mains gas is an option install central heating. If not take advantage of the E7 and install storage heaters.0

Kind of wanted to avoid all the work involved in installing gch although it's probably the best way to go. I wonder how much difference there would be in price between installing gch and new storage heaters/electric radiators.0

Installing NSH will be a lot cheaper than installing a gas system, however if mains gas is available then TBH going for gas is a no brainer.
It's by far the cheapest to run, easiest to control and will add significant value and saleability to your house. I wish I could get itNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

We have a heatpump with an overlay underfloor wet heating system. It was quite expensive and incredibly disruptive but we did it during a total refurb of our bungalow ten years ago so as we had walls taken down, rebuilt and flooring replaced we didn't worry too much about disruption.
It's just about paid for itself in lower electricty costs in conjunction with just over £5k of RHI but I'd still have mains gas if it was availableNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Think I'll ring around for some quotes and go from there. We are trying two storage heaters on tonight (hallway and lounge) to see what kind of temperature we can achieve and see how much it costs. Grateful for our delonghi heaters with this cold weather.

If it gets cool in the evening, turn the output control up, but turn it down again before going to bed.Make sure the immersion heater is on an E7 circuit controlled by the meter and that any Boost switch is left permanently off, except for occasional use if you've messed up or have been away.0

Switch to a credit meter immediately !As for getting gas, No Pain = No Gain. Remember that many people won't even view a property without GCH, it's a red line.Perhaps get some estimates now (send them a video and some floor plans) and get the work done in the spring / summer when hopefully the virus will have faded away.0
