Searching for new home insurance as renewal due next week and LV (abc) still haven’t had the decency to send me my renewal price due to a backlog and a company called Frontier have come up but I’ve not heard of them before so thought I’d see if anyone on here had and if they were ok?

They are an intermediary, they are selling a policy underwritten by Red Sands based out in Gibraltar.
Rightfully or wrongly there is a stereo type of insurers who decide to be domiciled in Gibraltar (or a few other similar islands) rather than being in the UK.1 -

Just had to claim from frontier, absolute nightmare, 5 months on and it's still not resolved.
1. They apparently had no-one in the north to board up the property after a break in
2. They took months to send an assessor, who's just lied about not being covered for the break-in. Who then didn't respond when asked which page and paragraph they were referring to.
3. They use a 3rd party company Evolution to process the claim, and devolve all responsibility for it, so complaints have to be made to frontier as well as evolution to get the claim looked at.
4. They admitted it was covered, then gave a figure which wouldn't have covered the boarding costs, let alone the repairs, then lied about not being notified about multiple break-ins. I had to get a data request which proves they were notified.
5. It's virtually impossible to get them to respond to emails and queries, and they don't phone. So communication is virtually non-existent.
6. Once the claims were added they refused to renew cover!
You'll regret making a claim with this company. I suspect I'll have to go to the financial ombudsman, or small claims to get this resolved.
Avoid and look for a company with a better claims handling record.0
