Gu10 spotlight stuck

I have a dead GU10 spot light in my bathroom and I just can't open the casing or pull out the holder to replace the bulb. I have tried various things to prise it open without damaging it or the ceiling.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

give it a yank.  there is a clip up there holding it, so pull it harder.

as above, where the sring is, is a clip - 1 each side. Give it a good pull. If you do pull a small bit of plasterboard down. it should still be covered by the rim of the fitting when pushed back in

also you should be able to take the bulb out without having to remove the holder, unless the holder is faulty and the bulb just goes round and round.

    Try this.
Pull it down as far as you can then grip the white part of the lamp fitting with one hand and then pull the chrome bezel down with your other hand.
This will release the inner part of the lamp fitting which will probably be held in place with a couple of small spring clips.
You might have to wiggle the chrome bezel as you pull it down.

I like how nobody has mentioned that if you just keep hold of the bottom and pull, once the clips come through the ceiling they will snap down onto your fingers like 2 mousetraps!

Mr_Mister, do you know for certain it's GU10, or are you just hoping is?
