This is now in the hands of the court and should run it's course.Insert_User_Name_Here said:I thought I'd let you know of an interesting development in the above case, in case this has happened to anyone else in a similar situation. After completing all of the above, we were given a hearing date in early July, meaning both parties have to submit all the necessary documents within the next week or so, and the claimant has to pay the trial fee....
Today, DCBL started calling my wife (the defendant) on her mobile. They have tried at least four times and left messages asking her to contact them - which she hasn't. I'm guessing that they might be trying some last ditch attempt to get her to settle so they can get at least some money and also avoid court fees, but it also feels a little like bullying. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't think why else they would be trying to contact her.
They could be about to make an offer and probably know they are on a loser
Your wife is being harassed and the best thing to do is block the number.
Or, could be attempting bully tactics threatening all sorts of things that are fake.
The other thing she can do for the moment is to divert ALL calls to the mobile's answer phone where she can check the messages often. That way, she can delete all DCBL calls and respond to those she wants to

Yes, people get frantic last-ditch phone calls and texts from roboclaim solicitors desperate to extract money from them by intimidation, saying that they are bound to lose
Then they often discontinue anyway.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Could it be that they have been asked by the court to create a joint bundle to send to the court?Insert_User_Name_Here said:I can't think why else they would be trying to contact her.
You will know it that's the case because the court would've instructed both the Claimant and Defendant similarly.
I'm guessing here, but you (or rather the Defendant) will have received instructions from the court about how all the documentation is filed for, I guess, a telephone hearing.
You have the paperwork. Check out what needs to be done.3 -
On the N157 form sent in April it states that each party must deliver to the other party (and to the court office) an indexed and paginated PDF bundle of any documents which that party intends to rely on at the hearing - at least fourteen days before the hearing date. No mention of a joint bundleKeithP said:

UPDATE! After ignoring the many phone calls last week from DCBL (which I'm convinced would have been an attempt to reach a settlement), my wife got an email from them this morning advising the following:
"Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records. The attached has also been filed with the Court. We will now proceed to close our file accordingly."
This is great news. Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone again for all of your help in this matter. It is greatly appreciated!4 -
Check with the court to make sure this is true. You wouldn't want some sneaky unregulated parking company to go ahead with the hearing and you not be there.
It's not over until the court sends you a notice of discontinuance.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Please come back to do the Government’s final technical public consultation about the level of parking charges, due out soon for only a 4 week window for responses.

WELL DONE, ... difficult to understand why DCBL DON'T DO THEIR HOMEWAORK FIRST instead of bringing timewasting rubbish cases to court. ???
There is no doubt that this forum damages parking companies and these legals4
