iPhone 8 4 to 6 digit pass code change problem

Hi guys,

I watched a pal change his pass code on his device yesterday morning from a 4 to 6 digit passcode. No problem. Today however the new code that's been in use since then is no longer working...

I'm not an Apple user so not much help to him. Thoughts?

Thanks! He's going to try, although the 6 dots are displayed. He's currently on a 1 hour cool down...

No, is the answer... the device is displaying 6 dots and only 4 are filled.

Reading the guides, it sounds like he's Disabled the phone now... and from that, there's no way back! Complete reset.

I assume he forgot the passcode that he set, it won’t be because it stopped working. I’ve seen people do this so many times, set a new PIN or something and immediately forget what it was. As they’ve found out, the only way back is a complete reset. I hope they had everything backed up first.
