Which vacuum cleaner?

Looking for a bagless vacuum cleaner around £200, seen the Dyson multi floor but alot of poor reviews and I'm also looking at the Miele blizzard CX1. Anyone have any of these or can recommend me any others to look at? Don't want the upright ones so anything similar to the ones I've stated?

I'd go for Miele everytime, I've had a C1 for years & while it's not bagless it's never been any trouble... unlike the Dysons I've had the misfortune to own.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

You need to decide whether you want an upright or cylinder, two very different beasts. For an upright I've found my Shark DuoClean to be excellent, much better than the Dyson it replaced. If you're looking at a cylinder are you sure you want a bagless model, I prefer Sebo over Miele any day, I purchased a Sebo E Airbelt for my parents a few years ago and it really does the job, although it's not bagless. Can't speak for the Miele CX1 but you can run a Henry without the bag as well.ben100000 said:Looking for a bagless vacuum cleaner around £200, seen the Dyson multi floor but alot of poor reviews and I'm also looking at the Miele blizzard CX1. Why do you say am I sure whether I want a bagless? Are they not as good as bagged?neilmcl said:

No, I'm just saying don't rule out a bagged vacuum as if they are somehow inferior to a bagless vacuum. They're not, far from it.ben100000 said:

If you can afford it - Sebo and Miele - in that order. After that Shark or good old Henry . Dyson have excellent marketing but inferior engineering. Every cleaner ( that can't or won't pay Sebo prices ) has Henry so they must be doing something right too
I'd prefer bag over bagless every time, tried and tested and good bagged vacuum cleaner can last 20 + years....0 -
Each to their own. We have a Miele, it' been relegated to the garage as the Dysons are so much better in the house. Dad had a Henry but we'd rather take our Dyson than use that.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1

I agree, Henrys are great as a workhorse and I can see why they're the preferred choice in a commercial setting but I've never found the cleaning heads that great for domestic carpets, they're too much hard work, much prefer a vacuum with a brush bar for that, hence why I find my Shark much better to use around the house and on multiple services and keep the Henry that I've got for the car and cleaning up diy jobs. Also prefer pushing an upright around the house than trying to drag a cylinder around with me.0
