Scam text, alledgedly from HSBC

I received HSBC texts to my works mobile and I do not have a HSBC account any more. The screen definately resembled HSBC log in. I went no further.0

I got one too. Quite frankly, if you find that sort of message in any way convincing, you shouldn't be doing banking online! There are so many obvious pointers that it's a scam:1) Spelling mistake2) Dodgy URL, not hsbc.co.uk3) No personalisation - eg doesn't use your name, part of the account number, part of the postcode etc4) Sent from a random mobile not the bank's name2

I got two on Saturday, within 1h. One allegedly from Santanter, other from Lloyds. Both had the same link to website faking Lloyds logon page. Came from private mobile numbers, which I blocked straight away. When I got first one, I thought for a moment, someone put wrong number into their contact detail, because I don't have Santander account. But after seeing the website, I realised it's a scam.

Forward them to 7726 so they can be blocked.1

Blocking is no use these days, it's easy to fake caller ID. I get spam calls on my landline, often from the same lot but with different numbers every time.

You don't block it - by forwarding a text to 7726 the teleco gets on on the case and blocks it their end (so that it doesn't get sent to more people)1
-
I blocked the numbers and deleted messages.

Any though on this £10 reward for using Digital secure App ?Below is the email that I have got from===================Subject :Mr XXX, your key to a £10 reward
Hello Mr XXX,
Download the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app, and you won't need your Physical Secure Key (that little calculator thingy) to log in to online banking anymore.
That's because with the app, you can set up a Digital Secure Key instead - just as secure and much more convenient.
And we'll give you £10 when you switch and activate a Digital Secure Key between 9 November - 20 December 2020*. Even better.
You can find more information on the offer as well as the full T&Cs below.
The simple and safe way to bankGet the app for a Digital Secure Key. You're then on your way to:Quick access to the app with Face ID or fingerprint authentication (if you have a compatible device)
Easy access to online banking, by generating a security code in the app
Banking on the go - with the app you can make payments, manage direct debits and even pay in cheques, wherever you are
A Digital Secure Key doesn’t just make banking easier, it’s more rewarding too. We’ll pop £10 into your account when you switch and activate a Digital Secure Key, within 31 days of making the switch.Make the switch before 20 December and make £10
Why upgrade to a Digital Secure Key?
Available in the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app, a Digital Secure Key gives you the verification codes you'd normally get on your Physical Secure Key.
It's fast and easy. And it means you can bank securely with the app (device restrictions apply), anywhere, at any time, with just one password. Plus, we'll also turn off your paper statements**.

Probably genuine as there is no 'click here' link ie it is informational only.
If you use the app for your secure key then the physical key will no longer work (I expect you know this already). On the plus side, it means you can use fingerprint login on the app.1 -
There's no risk with the HSBC offer. Download the app from the official app store, use it, and wait for the tenner to arrive in your account. Be aware though that once you switched to the digital secure key, you can't use the physical secure key any longer. You may consider this as a disadvantage or an advantage.1
