Amazon sent me a different item and wont refund me

So this is a bizarre one! I ordered a Mobile (230) and a pair of headphones, the box has come today and there is a now tv box in there and a Cheap Bluetooth speaker!

went on live chat and they said the weight was the same as the item I ordered so it must be right! Have asked to return but they said I need to return the right items which I haven’t got! 

What should I do?

Maybe there's a rogue member of staff who has worked out how to swap things without the system noticing.

except the orders are completed by robots not people.

That would be a good argument if humans weren't involved at all, but they are, from packing to delivery and elsewhere.

Any Amazon boxes or packages 8 receive have tamper markers that make it obvious the box or envelope has been opened .

I don't buy it either as picked by robot , not by hand ( unless a 3rd party seller fulfillment by Amazon )

I've received two amazon package, the most recent last week that contained the wrong item. Never has a problem with amazon resolving the issue.

 hubby had a similar problem ordered one item and got a pack of two children’s kites! 

Amazon emailed a returns label and refunded the day it was posted back .

Preables have you weighed the items to see if the combined weight is anywhere near the combined weight of what you ordered?

There are cases of staff theft within Amazon but there have also been a lot of cases of parcels being mislabelled, meaning your address label gets added to the parcel meant for someone else and somebody else gets a parcel with their label but your items. I would imagine those mistakes are at an all time high with current buying levels and lots of new staff.

Something going on at the moment with Amazon, there's too many articles about PS5's vs cat food at the moment for there not to be a problem with amazon fulfilment I think.

I have had wrong items sent to me in the past (low cost) and Matt Allwright was just saying on the One Show the other night about customers receiving some bizarre things instead of new PS5's  from Amazon so it appears that it is sometimes happening.
