However the printer the OP already owns has cartridges that can easily and successfully be refilled and hold twice as much ink as the pathetically low capacity 304 and 305 cartridges from HP

After watching someone managing to spray the stuff over their new curtains trying to refill, I’m firmly in the no camp,

i just purchase quality compatible cartridges online.  Cheaper and more ink in them, over the official ones.

My goto site is https://www.internet-ink.com/ but other sites are available.

I also disable firmware updates for my printer.

I print approx 40 pages per month and receive hp cartridges every 4/5 months.

Capacity is irrelevant when you are receiving new cartridges for a fixed amount per month

That's all well and good but why spend £45 on a new printer when the OP has a perfectly good printer and the existing cartridges can be refilled several times with a £5 refill kit

Throwing away perfectly good printers is bad for the environment and anyway 540 and 541 cartridges are very easy to refill.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of good ink to inject into the cartridges?  I got some a few years ago and it was not good?
