  • Only you can decide if the risk is worthwhile. Covid is a global challenge. Going on holiday isn't a total escape. Situations can rapidly change.
Appreciate you taking the time to comment @thrugelmir. To me, the holiday is a total escape from my day to day life as a carer. I’ve decided unless it’s cancelled by the airline / holiday company, I’m going to go as it’s much needed 😊

You are just going through what lots of people have gone through over the last 5 or so months - worrying about whether to risk going on holiday.
You have decided it's a much needed break for all of you.
    Go off and enjoy it.

  • Defo go if you can mitigate the risks beforehand. I work to vacation and the one holiday I had this year (end of August) to Spain was what I needed to recharge. If I could book something over Xmas I would in a heartbeat!
  • Thank you all so much 😊

Holiday insurance covers everything (I’ve checked!) except cancellation of return flight so should that be cancelled when we are there, I’d need to rebook flights and then claim it back from EasyJet.
This would be the only thing that concerns me - how flexible are you timewise/funds-wise if the return is cancelled and there isn't an alternative flight ? Not the easiest place to get home from if things do change dramatically while you're there

I have funds by in case of flight cancellation and have a credit card very worse case scenario. Time wise, it would be a pain due to isolation on way home and kids missing school....

What would happen to the children of you caught covid and had to go into isolation while there?

They would also have to isolate as they would have been in close contact with ‘mum’.

Exactly this. And to be honest, Egypt has a lot less cases than here in England looking at the stats.

It would be no different in that instance than if I got injured whilst there alone with my three children.

Let’s leave this poor Poster alone.  She has explained her thoughts and reasons for still going. No need to make things hard for her.
