What do YOU eat when OH is away?

Can you really trust your OH to eat what you prepare and leave in the freezer? Mine is even incapable of doing that much. I prepare a lot and put in freezer, but I always have to get it out, thaw it and cook it.
He would just get takeaway every day if I wasn't there to cook for him. Gosh, just realised how bad that sounds. Good job I am there for him, isn't it? He has takeaway every Thursday when I go to college.
Yes, mostly he will eat from the freezer because takeaways are not available where we live and the nearest supermarket is 8 miles away. Digging into the freezer is therefore the easy option. But if I didn't leave easy things in the freezer, he would be forced to take a trip to the supermarket - and then he would come back with piles of junk!"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -

The opposite here - no OH but dd11 is veggie so on Daddy Weekends I eat meat .... and lots of itI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
I go for really simple options like bacon & tomatoes, jacket potato, macaroni cheese made in a non-stick saucepan, cheese on toast and anything else than can be produced in under ten minutes. My OH, on the other hand, will go the Full Monty if I am away, and cook himself some very elaborate meals just for the pleasure of doing it. But then he loves cooking, and I don't !0

I'm the one who goes away a lot but if he isn't around I usually arrange to go out for dinner with a friend. Failing that it would be an omlette or a bowl of cereal or some toast!0

I find it hard to eat anything when my OH is away, not lazy or anything either as I do the cooking when she's here anyway.Winnings

Mine is away out in town for a team meal with his workmates and whilst he did offer to get me a takeaway, I've decided to just make some chicken and fusilli soup using a couple of the chicken thighs from our shopping yesterday and have it with a glass of pinot grigio whilst typing online and watching the telly :TIt's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0

That seems perfectly acceptable, but I bet you couldn't keep that up for 10 days in a row...!
I'm working on my meal plan now with everyone's suggestions - thanks again"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
I am very naughty and totally non-OS. When OH away I try to get a proper cooked lunch and then in the evening I snack, phone for a takeaway or buy crap microwave cottage pies etc! Not moneysaving at all but quick and easy! Slap on the wrists for me!

Hi there
When my hubby is away.. i go crazy with salmon and I make thai salmon which i love and he doesn't, avocado sandwiches..he doesn't like avocado either..... jacket potato, or i eat enough fruit to keep a chimp going
I tend to keep plenty of HM stuff in the freezer... although he has been known to eat the army ration packs for a whole week  when i have been away .. he thought it was great as it made no washing up but a spoon, and was nutritionally balanced and cost nothing..so i couldn't really argue -even though the freezer was full
The other day he went to put the oven on, and realised he didn't know how :rotfl: we have been here 6 months  ..but i have to say its my fault as the kitchen is my domain and i hate anyone in there
Am i right in thinking most of us ladies are quite happy to cook for the men in our life - but if its just "us" we can't be bothered? :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I eat leftovers and all the things he doesn't like such as omelettes, yogurt, creme caramel. semolina pudding.
If he's away walking with his friends and staying in a hotel I treat myself to a few things-a bottle of wine, cheesecake,a pork chop-.
Actually I quite enjoy DH going away occasionally. I'm an early bird-up at 6 or 6.30 and ready for bed by 9 but he's an owl and will stay up until past midnight so if he goes away I stock up on my favourite food, go to the library and eat what I want and go to bed when I feel like it.0
