    Hi DiddyDavies,
Thanks for you interest in helping me, much appreciated.
The address I've provided was the one for the product at the time of purchase, which had the 10yr guarantee on it.
It still points at the same shower valve, but there is no guarantee offered now.
The forum won't allow me to post what you're asking for yet, (not been a member long enough), so I've had to amend it a bit
Taken out the 1st 8 characters, removed the /moctod (reversed), and a forward slash after 'product'.

    I hope this makes sense.
    Good Luck!

The shower linked to has a 5 year gtee

    Dimensions and Specifications

    Guarantee
    Length 5 year

I would get urs fixed again under gtee and hope for the best, with no proof it will be impossible to get them to stick to a 10 year gtee

Internet Archive and Google Cache both only have versions of that page from this month, so I guess it was a different web link previously.

Edit: sorry - I didn't notice page 2 when I typed this reply.
  • Thank you Photome.
In the absence of any clear evidence that I can recover the terms I contracted to 4.5 yrs ago, I'm quite resigned to the fact that I will have to accept my oversight in not taking my own evidence of what guarantee was offered at the time of purchase.
However, as the unit now being sold has no additional guarantee over and above the statutory 12 month, would you, Photome, tell me how I can, at least secure the 5yr guarantee you have found, just in case the retailer decides to cite a 12 month guarantee when I contact them. Are you able to post the evidence of the 5yr you have found, or send it to me somehow? As a newbie here, I'm not familiar with the options available in getting your information to me.
A very special thank you, to you, for being so helpful and supportive.
  • Hasn't retailer already cited the 5 year guarantee to you?
  • Photome, Apologies, I've had a closer look at the present link, and opened up the hidden information, and found the 5 yr guarantee, so no need for you to do anything. My apologies, my oversight.
I've lost my 10yr guarantee, and will now have to make the most of the 5 yr one, and get the faulty valve replaced before April next year.
Unless someone else feels they can add to this thread (ie recover the 10yr info), I would be happy to close this thread.
Thank you everyone who has contributed.
    Stay safe and prosper!
  • Hi Were_Doomed,
Yes, the retailer mentioned the 5yr guarantee, when I last contacted them 2 yrs ago. But that was 2 yrs ago, and knowing that they had already shaved off 5yrs, I'm arming myself, in case another 4 yrs are shaved off when I ring them. However, I now see the current 5yr cited on their website so will take a screenshot of that right away, and this will cover me for the forthcoming replacement.

I couldn't find an old Victoria plumb page but the manufacturers current catalogue does show a 10 year guarantee on those valves: (page 234)
Scudo Product Brochure - Edition 11 by Harrison Bathrooms - issuu
The picture shows the rectangular version rather than the oval but from what I can see, the shape of the backplate doesn't have any effect on the length of the guarantee.

So why not contact them and see what they say

  • Hi DiddyDavies, Thanks for looking into this. Unless I'm missing something, what you've found are valves made/branded by Scudo, a UK bathroom manufacturer. The unit I purchased was called 'Matrix' or 'Mode Harrison' (name changed at some stage), which, in my very recent investigations, appears to be a Chinese import (I found replacement valves for these units are made in China, and I suspect the unit itself is of Chinese origin, and branded by the retailer).
I can't see how I could refer to the Scudo 10 yr guarantee as evidence that the Matrix/Mode Harrison valve that I purchased, also had a 10 yr guarantee. I again apologise if I'm missing the obvious.
